Welcome to

Assisted living

Enjoy your independence without compromising on care, in one of our assisted living units. Each rental unit comprises a spacious bedroom and en-suite bathroom, with certain units enjoying direct garden access. Four units are large enough to accommodate couples. Every unit is equipped with a call button connected to the nurses’ station.

On-call assistance

Qualified nursing staff are on site 24/7 to monitor our assisted living residents and make sure they get their meals and medication on time. Our head nurse is in charge of handing out the medication.

In-house catering

Three delicious and nutritious meals are prepared every day in our on-site kitchen. Created by a certified chef, our monthly menus are dietician approved. We cater for special dietary needs and those with diabetes.

Assisted Living

All available units

We have two types of assisted living rooms. Firstly, those along a corridor linked to the frail care which allows a very close oversight by the nurses, with the remaining units being “stoep rooms”, more open to the garden.

Our activities

Assisted Living residents have a host of facilities at their disposal, including board games, a darts board and pool table.

We encourage everyone to gather around our big screen on match days to support their team. And on beautiful days they can gather outdoors to enjoy playing pétanque.

Do I qualify for assisted living?

Assisted living residents can perform most daily tasks on their own, however might need a little help here and there.

On application, our head nurse will conduct an assessment which, together with a medical report from your doctor, will determine whether assisted living is the best option for you.

assisted living related FAQ’s

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I visit my parent?

Eden Park is bound by government legislation. When government increases the lockdown level, we unfortunately have to restrict visits accordingly, for the protection of the aged in our care. As soon as government lifts those restrictions, we allow family visits again.

Can I take my parent out for the day?

You are welcome to take your parent out for the day, as long as you take the necessary precautions with regards to COVID.

How many visitors are allowed?

We allow a maximum of 2 visitors at a time in the resident’s room. Residents are welcome to sit outside with their visitors if they have more than 2 visitors, but the number of visitors can’t exceed 4.

What happens if a resident gets COVID?

The resident is put in isolation in his/her room until full recovery. Nursing staff uses personal protective equipment and only a few of them are allowed in the room, to minimise exposure.

When is frail care an option?

Frail care is necessary when the resident can no longer feed themselves, wash themselves or go to the toilet unattended. Nursing support is required for those daily activities.
