Dementia care

To promote a more home-like experience, Eden Park dementia suites resemble assisted living accommodation. Each suite consists of a spacious bedroom with call button, an en-suite bathroom and lounge area. The call button connects directly to the centrally located nurses’ station.

Dedicated dementia suites

Residents in our specialised dementia units enjoy a dedicated, enclosed garden area with sturdy patio furniture and a private lounge for activities and relaxation.

Dementia care related FAQ’s

Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT DO WE DO DIFFERENTLY IN DEMENTIA CARE?

Our accommodation options provide a far better home like experience due to the structure of their living units. Our unit accommodates a small number of residents which allows us to provide a far more resident orientated care program for each individual resident.

IS MY LOVED ONE GOING TO BE STIMULATED?

We use subject matter experts in the Dementia field to ensure our care plans include activities that stimulate our residents both physically and mentally.

HOW MANY VISITORS ARE ALLOWED?

Family members can visit residents. We encourage them to sit outside on beautiful days or in our communal spaces if it’s too cold to be outside.

CAN I VISIT MOM AND DAD?

Eden Park is bound by government legislation. When government increases the lockdown level, we unfortunately have to restrict visits accordingly, for the protection of the aged in our care. As soon as government lifts those restrictions, we allow family visits again.

CAN I TAKE MOM AND DAD OUT FOR THE DAY?

You are welcome to take your parent out for the day, as long as you take the necessary precautions with regards to COVID.
